Restaurant of the Month:
KPOT
Ashley and I finally got to check out KPOT for the first time during a little lunch date while Cora was at daycare. We figured that cooking raw meat over a hot plate at the table was best done without a toddler in tow. 😉
The Concept:
KPOT blends Korean BBQ with traditional Asian hot pot, and here’s the kicker – it’s all-you-can-eat! Yep, you get to cook your own meats, seafood, veggies, and noodles right at the table, choosing your ingredients and how you want them cooked. It’s hands-on dining at its finest!
The Menu:
They’ve got everything from tender cuts of beef and fresh seafood to all sorts of veggies, tofu, and noodles. The fun part? You’re in control of your meal from start to finish!
The Vibe:
KPOT feels like a mini night out – even during the day. The lighting and the full bar give it that upbeat, nightlife atmosphere. Definitely a fun spot if you’re looking for a lively date or outing with friends.
Our Experience:
We went with the hot pot side of things. I started with the Szechuan Spicy soup base… which turned out to be a little too spicy for me (let’s just say my taste buds were on fire 🔥). Thankfully, I cooled it down with their Healthy Herbs Soup base. Ashley got the KPOT soup base (apparently, it’s not on their online menu) and kicked it up a notch by adding just a touch of the Szechuan Spicy. We spent the rest of lunch throwing meat and veggies into our bubbling pots and trying out different combinations. It was super interactive and something totally different for date day!
Fun fact: Hot pot has roots dating back over 1,000 years in China, originally created to share a communal, warming meal during colder months. KPOT has modernized it with their own twist – including the option to BBQ at your table if you want!
Overall:
We had a great time and will definitely be back. If you’re ever in the mood for something different (or just want to feel like a chef for the day), KPOT’s got you covered.
