Restaurant of the Month:
Outback
Went to Outback for my mom’s birthday! 🎉 We almost got their famous Bloomin’ Onion, but since we kicked things off with happy hour at Bagger Dave’s 🍻 (and devoured their onion rings 😋), we passed on it this time.
I ordered the Sirloin & Bloomin’ Chicken 🍗🥩—the chicken was definitely the star of the show! The veggies? Meh, nothing to write home about 🥕, and the steak seasoning was just okay.
Mom went for the filet, which she enjoyed but didn’t love as much as at some other top steak spots 🥩. Her friend Gary gave their Bloomin’ Burger 🍔 a thumbs-up and couldn’t get enough of the baked potato soup 🥔🍲!
Ashley also got a steak and agreed with my mom—good, but not mind-blowing.
We’ve heard Texas Roadhouse is the spot for better bread 🥖, butter, and overall meat quality 🥩🔥. We’ll definitely have to check it out and compare! 👀
Did You Know?
Outback Steakhouse isn’t just about food—it’s about an experience that brings people together. Here are some interesting facts you might not know:
-
Not Really Australian – Despite the Australian-themed name, Outback was actually founded in Tampa, Florida, in 1988. The “Australian” aspect was added to give it an adventurous, laid-back image that aligns with the Outback of Australia.
-
The Bloomin’ Onion’s Popularity – Their iconic Bloomin’ Onion wasn’t originally expected to be the runaway success it is today. Over 17 million Bloomin’ Onions are served each year!
-
The Secret Spice Blend – Outback’s secret spice blend used on their steaks is one of the things that sets them apart from other steakhouses. It includes a unique mix of 17 spices, and while the exact recipe is a closely guarded secret, it’s what keeps customers coming back for more.
-
Community Involvement – Outback Steakhouse takes pride in giving back. Over the years, they’ve supported numerous charitable causes, including military and veteran programs, food banks, and local community events.
Doing things differently leads to something exceptional.
